Data Deep Dive: Financial Well-Being of Veteran Families in Wisconsin

Join the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University to learn about the financial well-being of military and Veteran families in Wisconsin. This online event is presented by VetsCAN in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

The presentation will highlight Wisconsin-specific information gathered in preparation of this year’s Measuring Communities Spotlight Report: The Financial Well-Being of Military and Veteran Families in America, published by the MFRI.

Katie Walter from MFRI will present a deep dive into the Institute’s data and analysis of military and veterans in the State of Wisconsin. This data deep dive will highlight topics such as:

  • Veteran demographics;
  • The digital divide and community parameters;
  • Financial indicators related to the veteran’s household;
  • Housing cost burdens;
  • Employment-related opportunities.

PRESENTER INFORMATION: Katie Walter is a Senior Community Outreach Specialist with the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University. Katie’s expertise lies within health communication and public health, especially as it applies to using key data and optimizing community networks to make a change in the lives of those she serves. Katie earned a master’s degree in health communication from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations and strategic communication from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
