Data Deep Dive: Financial Well-Being of Veteran Families in Wisconsin

Join the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University to learn about the financial well-being of military and Veteran families in Wisconsin. This online event is presented by VetsCAN in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

The presentation will highlight Wisconsin-specific information gathered in preparation of this year’s Measuring Communities Spotlight Report: The Financial Well-Being of Military and Veteran Families in America, published by the MFRI.

Key findings from this year’s national report include:

  • Food insecurity remains a national concern for military families, especially among minorities and families with junior enlisted members or unemployed spouses.
  • Homelessness is rising among veterans, with a noticeable difference in rates among men compared to among women.
  • Women veterans with service-connected disabilities experienced rising unemployment rates between 2022 to 2023.
