Kathy Still

Kathy Still, President

Kathy Still is a seasoned former state government executive, having served the people of Wisconsin during two gubernatorial administrations, primarily in leading external and intergovernmental relations for the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs for nearly 10 years. With 24 years of combined military service in the Army Reserve and National Guard, she dedicated a number of years on active duty helping develop the Army’s community-based Warrior Transition Program, commanding two such units in the Midwest and on the East Coast.

 

Lessons learned about the military’s disability processing system during these assignments led Kathy to the University of Wisconsin Law School, from which she graduated in December 2012. She resides in Madison with her husband, Tom.

Keith Lang

Keith Lang, Vice President

Keith Lang is Vice President of the Veteran’s Community Action Network of South-Central Wisconsin. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after having served for 36 years in a variety of units. His last assignment was Command of the 467th Combat Stress Control Detachment headquartered in Madison. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, a Gulf War Veteran and life member of VFW Post 7591. Keith earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wisconsin State University-Whitewater and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University.

 

His professional career includes serving as senior staff to a number of state councils including the Mental Health Council and the State Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse. Professional accomplishments also include serving as an Executive Director with Lutheran Social Services following his state career. He co-authored numerous grant application to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. From 2011 until 2016 he served as President of the Wisconsin Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, a coalition of not- for- profit organizations and was active in disaster recovery efforts following federal disaster declarations in Wisconsin.

Connie Walker

Connie Walker, Treasurer

Connie Walker’s focus since 2005 has been on increasing non-VA health and mental healthcare providers’ cultural competency in treating Veterans and families, and reducing challenges in access to care and benefits for Veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors. Federal, state, regional, and community advocacy has included testimony to the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs and the Maryland State Legislature; training for VA Transition Patient Advocates at the National Institute of Mental Health; and Student Veteran awareness and education for 2 and 4 year college faculty and administrative staff in Maryland and Wisconsin. She has delivered Veterans and Families as a Special Population training as part of Crisis Intervention Team and CI Partners training for law enforcement and other first responders in both of those states.

 

As a member of the steering committee to develop a Veterans Treatment Court in Green Bay, Connie helped establish the Northeast Wisconsin Veterans Treatment Court. The co-founder and first president of the VetsCAN, a VA-recognized Community Veterans Engagement Board and Local Partner of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, she now serves as its treasurer.

JD Engelhardt

J.D. Engelhardt, Board Member

JD Engelhardt, a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, got his undergraduate degree from Augustana College after his time in the military. Since he moved to Madison, WI, he has been an active member of the VetsCAN and Veteran communities. JD is critical in helping find new partners and outreach to more veteran organizations and communities. JD is always eager to meet and learn how to improve the veteran community.

Natalie Isensee

Natalie Isensee, Board Member

Natalie Isensee is a veteran of the Marine Corps and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following her military service Natalie has continued applying her skills in service to veterans and others through organizations such as Team RWB and the Dane County Veterans Commission. Natalie’s commitment to veterans extends to her workplace, where she’s been instrumental in developing Veterans affinity groups and DEI strategies. Natalie’s contributions to Veterans and families in our communities have been recognized as recipient of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Veterans in Business Award and the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Woman Veteran of the Year.

Kevin Moore, Board Member

Kevin Moore is CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin with an extensive background in Medicaid, social determinants of health, public policy, strategic solutions, and a long history of proven leadership and experience with state-based and government sector programs. Kevin served as Vice President of Strategic Solutions for UnitedHealthcare Community & State. Prior to that role, Kevin joined Community & State as Vice President of National Policy & Strategy. Kevin previously served as Wisconsin’s Medicaid Director and as the Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

 

Kevin holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He resides in Madison with his spouse, Heidi, and daughter, Scout.
