Madison VA Fisher House
Fisher House, providing free lodging for the families of veterans while their loved ones receive medical care, is coming to Madison! Our special guest will be Steven Rose, Executive Director of Fisher House Wisconsin. He’ll provide an update on progress for construction and opening of the facility that will be located at the corner of Nursery Drive and Deming Way in Middleton. Every Fisher House relies on donations and volunteers. Join this conversation to learn more.
Each Fisher House is built through a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Fisher House Foundation. Homes are constructed and furnished through philanthropy, donated to the VA, and operated at no cost to families.
Why Fisher House?
The Madison VA serves Veterans from across southern and central Wisconsin, many of whom live hours away from the hospital. Extended inpatient stays can quickly create emotional and financial strain for families who want to be present but face difficult choices around travel, lodging, and time away from home.
The Madison VA Fisher House will: Keep families close to care; reduce out-of-pocket lodging expenses; ease emotional and financial stress during treatment; and create a supportive community for caregivers.
