QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — three simple steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. Like CPR for physical health, QPR is an emergency mental health intervention that trains individuals to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis, offer hope, and connect the person to professional help.
In this training, participants learn how to identify a crisis, ask the right questions, persuade someone to seek help, and refer them to appropriate resources. Gatekeepers can be anyone — friends, family, coworkers, teachers, or first responders — and play a vital role in the Chain of Survival for those at risk.
This training is free to attend and is hosted by Veterans Services of the Carolinas, a Got Your 6 Network partner based in North Carolina. VetsCAN is also a Got Your 6 Network partner.
