SUMMARY:Resiliency Movie Screening: "Brothers After War"
DESCRIPTION:Movie Screening: Friday\, February 28\, 2025\, 11:00 a.m. \nMarcus Palace Cinema\, Sun Prairie. \nCLICK HERE TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT \nBrothers After War is a follow-up to the 2013 movie Brothers At War. The new movie follows up with the Service Members from the original filming in Iraq and stateside. THE BROTHERS AT WAR RESILIENCY PROGRAM evolved from the real world experience of screening the documentary for numerous groups of returning American Service Members and their families. The overwhelming positive response to the film and to the filmmaker made it clear that the Rademacher family had become a microcosm of all of our war fighters and their families. As such\, it became apparent to us that creating a Resiliency program as a supplement to and an inducement to the utilization of existing veterans resources\, was a logical next step. \nPresented by Brothers After War and the Gary Sinise Foundation. SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Higher Education After the Service
DESCRIPTION:Higher Education After the Service\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen they leave the service\, many veterans take advantage of benefits such as the GI Bill to earn a college degree\, build upon their existing education or gain certifications that will help them in their chosen civilian career. \nBut navigating all of the options can be confusing and time-consuming. Veterans have to decide what education they want to pursue\, what their benefits will cover\, whether they can share or transfer benefits to spouses or children and even whether they want to attend classes in-person or remote\, with all of these choices having their pros and cons. While the military provides transition assistance programs\, the final decision is up to each individual veteran\, and the number of decisions to make can be overwhelming. \nIn this webcast\, Military Times explores how veterans can navigate higher education after their time in the service\, including determining the right career path\, understanding educational benefits and what veterans need to know before their first day of classes. \nCLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO & TO REGISTER

SUMMARY:WEBINAR - Straight Talk: Housing Solutions with the Department of Veterans Affairs
DESCRIPTION:Join the Bob Woodruff Foundation on February 29 at 2 PM ET for a webinar about the federal response to veterans homelessness. \n\nThe words “homeless” and “veteran” should not exist together. The Homeless Programs Office of the Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to ending homelessness among veterans because our nation must ensure all veterans have a place to call home. Although significant progress has been made to prevent and end veteran homelessness over the last decade\, recently released data show that the number of veterans experiencing homelessness increased by more than 7% in 2023. \n\nThis presentation will provide an overview of the federal response to veteran homelessness\, share updates on the latest legislative actions to support homeless veterans and highlight opportunities for the public to stay engaged and help. \n\nRegister here to join the webinar.
